Job Description

THE ROLE…

This is not your average Store Manager role.

We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially driven leader to take the reins of our Rutherford store - someone who can lead from the front, build a strong team culture, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and importantly, identify opportunities to grow sales across both retail and trade.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day success of the store, but this role also offers the opportunity to make a real impact beyond the showroom floor by building relationships with local trades, renovators, builders and repeat customers.

If you’re someone who loves leading people and has a natural ability to spot opportunities, win business and grow customer relationships, this could be the perfect next step.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing store team
  • Driving strong sales results across retail and trade
  • Delivering an exceptional showroom and customer experience
  • Building relationships with trade customers, local builders, renovators and contractors
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to grow market share and local business
  • Managing store operations including inventory, stock movement and shrinkage control
  • Ensuring safety, compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained
  • Creating a positive, accountable and motivated team culture

You’re a strong people leader with commercial instincts.

You know how to run a successful store, but you also understand that great results come from building relationships, creating repeat business, and looking for opportunities to grow beyond day-to-day transactions.
You may come from a retail, trade, showroom, branch or building products environment, and you’re ready for a role where you can genuinely influence store performance and local growth.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a Store Manager, Branch Manager or similar leadership role 
  • Strong sales capability and a track record of achieving or exceeding targets 
  • Confidence building relationships with both retail customers and trade clients 
  • A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to spot and pursue growth opportunities 
  • Experience in tiles, flooring, bathroomware, building products, hardware or a related industry (highly regarded) 
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills 
  • A customer-first mindset and the energy to lead from the front
