Job Description

THE ROLE…

We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to lead growth across NSW and ACT.

This newly created role is focused on driving revenue through proactive selling, opportunity conversion and market expansion, with a strong emphasis on the residential building sector, while also working across broader commercial and residential opportunities.

You’ll play a key role in identifying, qualifying and converting new business opportunities, building strong relationships across the construction industry, securing new project and customer wins. While the primary focus is on business development, the role may also manage a select group of growth customers or critical relationships that you have helped develop.

This is a high-autonomy, relationship-led sales role suited to someone who is commercially driven, well connected, and motivated by creating growth through both new opportunities and stronger existing customer relationships.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Identifying, qualifying and converting new business opportunities across NSW and ACT
  • Building a strong pipeline across residential and commercial project channels
  • Developing target lists and proactively pursue growth opportunities
  • Conducting engaging presentations on products, capabilities and solutions
  • Initiating and supporting tenders, proposals and commercial submissions
  • Securing preferred supplier agreements and project-based opportunities
  • Growing existing key accounts by increasing share of wallet where relevant
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline activity, CRM updates, quotations and sales reporting
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to support smooth customer onboarding and project execution
  • Using market knowledge to identify new growth opportunities across customers, products and segments

Desired Skills and Experience

YOU…

You are a well-connected sales professional with a strong track record in business development, project sales or specification sales within the construction, building products or interiors space.

You thrive on:

  • Building relationships and generating opportunities through your network
  • Opening doors with builders, developers, contractors and key decision-makers
  • Identifying project opportunities and converting them into commercial wins
  • Growing share of wallet within key customer relationships
  • Working with urgency, persistence and a strong results focus
  • Creating rapport quickly and influencing outcomes

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Proven success in a Business Development / Project Sales / Specification Sales role
  • Strong networks across the commercial and residential construction industry
  • A genuine sales mindset with a passion for growth and results
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • The ability to identify opportunities, qualify leads and close effectively
  • Strong commercial discipline across pipeline management, quoting and reporting
  • Experience within the tile industry will be highly regarded, but is not essential
